Our BEN Friend volunteers assist the BEN Welfare team by visiting beneficiaries in their homes. This role is extremely varied and can involve providing emotional support or helping in practical ways.

BEN friends visit people of all ages in their homes; listening, befriending, assessing their circumstances and reporting their findings back to the Welfare department in writing, while observing strict confidentiality at all times. BEN Friends are given caseloads that will suit them and that they feel able to cope with. They directly help the lives of those members of the automotive industry who are in need and look to BEN for help.

To begin with volunteers will shadow a member of Welfare staff and be provided with a comprehensive induction before they begin and ongoing training thereafter. Support will always be available for every BEN Friend via telephone or email with members of the Welfare department.
