A once high end car worth £10,924, Auto Express`s 11 year old Lantra, with battered side panels, scraped paintwork and ageing trim, was effectively worthless but not for us. With the BEN `Scrap and Donate` scheme and a few simple steps the Lantra raised £140 for us and our cause.
Auto Express like many others had stuck with their trusted car throughout its life but unlike most others the relationship didn't stop there. Auto Express followed their Lantra through the process of donating it to BEN`s ‘Scrap and Donate` scheme. From visiting the charitycar website, to the Slough End of Life Vehicle Centre, and finally the Cartakeback recycling centre Auto Express gave their beloved vehicle a well-deserved and worthy send off.
From Aluminium in the grill to even the fuel in the tank there could be hundreds of pounds to be salvaged from even the most run down vehicles, all of which makes extra money that can be donated to us and in turn help automotive industry people in need. This process releases you of any liability and confirming that your old vehicle has been disposed of in an ethical and environmentally responsible way.
The £140 made by Auto Express is nearly double the amount the car would have made using it as a trade in; why not see how far your old car could go to help? The scheme is really easy to take part in as all you need to do is visit the website www.charitycar.co.uk/ben and enter a few details. Then you choose whether to deliver your old car to your nearest Cartakeback recycling centre, or make things really easy and ask them to collect it from you free of charge!
