Since its launch earlier this year, Dealers Backing BEN has received support from key players in the retail sector. Dealers participating in this simple scheme agree for the auction houses to deduct £1 for BEN from every vehicle sold through the auctions.
Retail giants PSA Retail and Vertu have now joined the growing list of participants which also includes Sytner, Marshall, Ford Retail, Lookers and Pentagon.
Money raised from this initiative helps to support over 15,000 people from the automotive industry, many of whom work or have worked in the retail sector.
Robert Forrester, CEO of Vertu, said;
"Vertu are very pleased to be able to support BEN with this excellent initiative which will help to ensure that our industry charity can continue to support the people who work in it."
David Peel, Chief Executive of PSA Retail, added;
"PSA retail group are pleased to be able to support BEN in this way with an easy to administer fundraising initiative that helps to provide a sustainable income stream for our industry charity"
Nigel Williams BEN's Commercial Development Manager commented;
"The response to Dealers Backing BEN has been magnificent and it isn't just the major groups who are participating. Any dealer who sells cars through the auctions can support their industry charity through this simple and valuable initiative."
The number of auctions who support the initiative is also growing with BCA, Manheim, Aston Barclay, Wilsons, Fleet and Eastbourne recently joined by Scottish Motor Auctions.
"Dealers Backing BEN has really captured the imagination of the retail sector" adds Williams, "however we believe that the initiative is still only the tip of the iceberg and we'd like the opportunity to discuss enrolling in the initiative with all the retail dealers"
