A group of children from BEN and fellow charity Starlight have had a dream day out at Silverstone, being driven around the track in Ferrari Californias by current and up and coming racing stars.
The children who are all either seriously ill or young carers for seriously ill parents, were treated to a 15 minute ride around the track in Ferrari's £143,000 California supercar with a driver from the British Racing Drivers Club Superstars.
Also taking the wheel were legend Jason Plato and Ferrari enthusiast and long time BEN supporter Nick Mason. Ferrari Formula One test driver Marc Gené was on hand to talk to the children about life in Formula One and the day was topped off with a jaw dropping display by The Blades, one of the world's most sought after aerobatic teams.
BEN's Chief Executive David Main, who was there for the occasion said;
"It was a deeply humbling experience to meet these brave children and their families. We were blessed with unexpectedly good weather and the day was a wonderful treat for everybody involved. Our children spent the day with enormous smiles and described their time in the cars as "awesome"!
"We are deeply grateful to Ferrari, the BRDC and everybody who was involved in making this day so special for our very deserving children."
