The first ever Motor Oil Industry Cricket Tournament was held at Lord's, The Home of Cricket on Monday 22 June.
In perfect conditions, three teams from the oil, petrol and forecourt industry battled it out for the trophy and competition was fierce.
The team led by Independent Oil Consultant, Keith Guppy, was triumphant on the day but the real winner was industry charity BEN. The day has so far raised over £7,000 for BEN, with the final total still being totted up.
Jim Wright, BEN's Head of National Development said;
"It was wonderful to see all sectors of the oil industry come together in the perfect setting of Lord's Cricket Ground and play some wonderful cricket. Everybody had a great time and BEN has received over £7,000 which we will use to help our industry colleagues who may be suffering at this very difficult time.
We are totally bowled over by the generosity and enthusiasm of all involved and especially to Peter Fender and Keith Guppy who did so much to make the day a success. Our special thanks must also go to team sponsors: HKS Motors, Scheidt & Bachmann and Green Gate and also to Indigo retail for sponsoring the programme."
