Lynwood Celebrates New Reception Opening

Thanks to a generous legacy which has been donated to the Lynwood Nursing and Residential Centre by a former resident, Mr Richard Newey, the centre has been able to undertake major refurbishment work of its reception area.

Richard Newey lived at Lynwood from November 2006 until he passed away in January 2008 at the age of 77. Mr Newey leaves a son, Adrian, who is currently the Chief Technical Officer of the Red Bull Racing Formula One Team.

The opening of the new reception was held on 26 February at Lynwood in Ascot. Mrs Marigold Newey, daughter-in-law to the late Mr Newey, officiated at the ceremony on behalf of the family, along with BEN's new Chief Executive, David Main, Director of Welfare, Jenny Brown and Lynwood Matron, Julie Way. Mrs Newey was presented with a bouquet of flowers by Lynwood resident Mrs Patricia Jennyridge. In thanking BEN, Mrs Newey spoke of her fondness for Lynwood advising that her late father-in-law had been very happy during his stay. David Main thanked Mrs Newey and her family acknowledging how important this refurbishment was and how much difference it has made to everyone at BEN.
