Land’s End to John O’Groats In Just 4 Days

Land’s End to John O’Groats In Just 4 DaysMarcus Brueton from Reigate and James Starling from Fleet are cycling from Land's End to John O'Groats to raise money for BEN.

Land’s End to John O’Groats In Just 4 DaysThe pair met at Toyota GB's head office at Burgh Heath, Surrey where Marcus works for Toyota GB and James works for Toyota Finance. In order to make the ride more of a challenge James and Marcus aim to complete the 900mile route in just four days with stops at Gloucester, Carlisle and Inverness en route.

The training for this event began back in September for James whose background lies in running having competed internationally for England in the Commonwealth Games at 1500m and raced alongside Steve Cram. James has built up his mileage over the months and lost two stone along the way. Marcus is a regular cyclist who races with Norwood Paragon although he likewise has had to increase his training with a training camp in Majorca plus a stage-race at Easter where he helped his team-mate Steve Calland take the yellow jersey.

Marcus says,
"We would like to especially thank Hudson Kapel Ltd and Toyota GB plc for their support on this trip. Hudson Kapel Ltd is a key sponsor and has helped us out with kit whilst Toyota GB is providing transport suppport."

The normal time for completing this ride is 9-10 days, so they will have their work cut out for them keeping to schedule. This is the equivalent of four back to back London to Brighton Cycle Rides every day four days in a row. They will be setting off in the first week of June hoping for good weather and ideally a tailwind!
