Winner of the BMW K 1200 R motorcycle, from BEN's 2008 National Prize Draw, was Mr. Denis O'Dell from Hartland in Devon. Mr. O'Dell is a long time supporter of BEN starting as a member of the Bedford Centre Committee in 1948, and having served on its Welfare Committee for 22 years.
Commenting on his win Mr O'Dell stated that he may have bought enough BEN raffle tickets, over the years, to have paid for the motorcycle, but this was his first real win. Whilst he did admit to having used a motorcycle many years ago, at the age of 89 he feels it is more appropriate, and safer, to sell the winnings and donate a minimum of 50% to BEN - to further the help it provides to those in distress.
