Editor of Business Car Manager, Ralph Morton, took part in his first ever triathlon this year and raised over £1000 for both BEN, the automotive industry charity, and Cancer Research.
Ralph was competing as part of Team Mazda, organised by PR director Graeme Fudge, in the Mazda Blenheim Triathlon. "I thought if I was going to train up for an event like this, others could share my pain by putting some money up for two great charities," said Ralph. "I'm very thankful to all of them for their tremendous support."
The Blenheim Triathlon was a "sprint" distance event: a 750 metre swim in the lake, a 20km cycle ride, followed by a 5km run. "Without doubt the hardest part was the first five minutes of the swim... But it was hugely exhilarating to take part in such a massive event."
Ralph is also planning to take part in the Olympic distance Mazda London Triathlon next year.
