Credit Crunch Generosity

Neil Haynes has been working in the industry since he left school at the age of 17. He currently works for Ron Brooks Toyota in Derbyshire and has been with the dealership since 2004.

Neil HaynesEarlier this year in April, Helen Lace, BEN Regional Manager, visited the dealership to talk to staff about BEN and the work it does in the industry for those facing hardship and distress. Neil felt instantly compelled to assist, and decided to help BEN by pledging £5 for every new and used car he sells. So far Neil has donated £675 to BEN, and hopes to reach his target of £1,000 by April 2009.

Neil commented: "The phrase ‘credit crunch' came out of nowhere in May this year and sales have become increasingly difficult. Fewer cars are being sold, but I have soldiered on, often going without that bottle of wine, in lieu of my £5 pledge."

Charles Davis, Director of Fundraising and Communications at BEN, said: "Given the current testing industry conditions we're facing, we are extremely grateful to fundraisers such as Neil, who are continuing to show their support and dedication to BEN during these trying times."
