Car Dealer Magazine Takes Up The Baton For BEN

Car Dealer Magazine is continuing with its challenge to raise money for BEN, the Automotive Industry Charity. Earlier this year the magazine's Editor, James Baggott, initiated a fundraising initiative for BEN. His plan was to raise as much money as possible by asking a number of dealers if they would participate in an industry-inspired car relay race.

All James needed was for the first car to be donated free of charge. Autotrade-mail thankfully came to the rescue by donating an M-reg Ford Fiesta, which was sold privately by James to one of his football chums for £695. Autotrade-mail's boss Marcus Kelland made the value up to £1000 and so the relay race had begun.

Each month the baton - in this case the cash fund - is being be passed from one motor trader to another who will then carry on the challenge by adding any profit raised to the cash fund, thus seeing a steady profit growth over a 12 month period. So far, £1650 has been raised, but Car Dealer Magazine hopes to push this figure towards the £2k mark in the near future.
