A plaque has been unveiled at BEN's Town Thorns Care Centre to mark the legacy left by Geoffrey Richardson, an active British motor sport competitor who died in 2007.
The plaque was unveiled by Michael MacDowel, Trustee of the BRDC Benevolent Fund. This commemorates the £15,000 donation made to BEN by the BRDC Benevolent Fund as a tribute to Geoffrey Richardson from his legacy. The money was used by Town Thorns to refurbish its Young Persons Disabled Wing.
Jenny Brown, BEN's Director of Care Services said;
"Geoffrey's donation has allowed Town Thorns to refurbish our Young Persons Disabled Wing, making a huge difference to the lives of the residents there. Making a legacy gift such as this is a wonderful way to support BEN and help us to provide care and support to industry colleagues whenever they need us. Our grateful thanks to the BRDC Benevolent Fund for making this possible."
Michael MacDowel said:
"The BRDC Benevolent Fund enjoy an excellent relationship with BEN to our mutual benefit and we were pleased to be in a position to make this donation."
