On Sunday 10th May we hosted our annual Football Championship at Goals Soccer Centre - Star City, Birmingham and raised over £1,400.

15 teams from across the automotive industry attended the event that consisted of a league and knockout stage. Throughout the tournament the competition was fierce and each team battled to reach the top of their leagues to see them through to the knockout stages.

After some tense competition the Championship rounded off with an all Benfield final, seeing Benfield Toyota Wakefield playing Benfield Ford York play for the title. The game was end-to-end but when the final whistle blew Benfield Toyota Wakefield were victorious winning 2-0 and retaining the title for the second year running (the first ever team to do so).

A match for The Plate between 3rd and 4th was also played involving The AA and Valeo Service UK with The AA winning 3-1.

BEN's Events Manager, Kelly Neal, said "It was a fantastic day. The group stages were heavily contested with a couple of penalty shoot-outs adding to the drama. A special congratulations has to go to the lads from Benfield Toyota Wakefield who became the first team to successfully retain the crown of industry champions. These events not only help to raise vital funds but serve as a backdrop to remind those participating of what we do and that we can provide any help and support needed so we are extremely grateful to all the companies who entered a team and all those who took part."
