Therapy Manager
Rosaria Toohey BSc Physiotherapy MCSP SRP
What is an average working day like for you?
As manager I am juggling the running of the unit but also trying to keep a case load myself so that I am in touch with the residents and can make sure we are meeting their direct therapeutic needs. Everyone who comes into Lynwood is assessed, and with their permission is given an individual physiotherapy treatment programme to help maintain their independence and mobility.
Which three words would you use to describe Lynwood?
Happy! Professional and unique!
What would you say to someone considering Lynwood, for themselves or a relative?
I would highly recommend that you pay Lynwood a visit. The care is exceptional and there is a unique friendly, relaxed and happy atmosphere. It is quite unusual to have a well staffed and specialist therapy team on site in a residential setting and I think our residents benefit hugely from this facility.

I would recommend coming to Lynwood as I feel we have a lot to offer with the activities, entertainment and all the physiotherapy treatments that are available. We also have the beautiful grounds for everyone to enjoy which is a big bonus, as well as the Church involvement, hairdresser and the podiatrist services as well.

What is an average working day like for you?
It is varied, enjoyable and one of the most satisfying jobs I have had because both residents and staff are here for the "long-term". We get to know residents well and it is great to make a difference to their quality of life through physiotherapy treatments and varied activities.
What three words would you use to describe Lynwood?
Caring, holistic, fun!
What would you say to some one considering Lynwood, for themselves or a relative?
This is not your typical "old people's home". Each person is treated according to their particular needs and wishes. If I had a relative who needed the kind of care that Lynwood provides – this is the one I'd choose.

What is an average working day like for you?
I try to treat every resident as I would like my mum (up North) to be treated! I know others are doing the same for her.
What three words would you use to describe Lynwood?
Warm, thoughtful and a real home!
What would you say to some one considering Lynwood, for themselves or a relative?
If I was choosing residential care, my main priority by far, would be the people that work there. I have never met a more caring and dedicated group. It's a privilege to be part of it.
