Lin Lockwood, Assistant Matron

What is an average working day like for you?
No day is ever the same but it's usually people-orientated, seeing residents, relatives and delivering training to staff.  My role is to deputise and assist Matron, Julie, in the overall management of Lynwood.  I enjoy spending time with our residents and probably the best part of my day is when I am on the units either delivering care or socialising: any excuse for a sing-song!

What three words would you use to describe Lynwood?
Friendly, supportive and caring.

What would you say to someone considering Lynwood for a relative or themselves?

Molly Andrews, Facilities Manager

What is an average working day like for you?
I check the estate for any repairs that need doing and allocate internal tasks.  I collate quotes for tasks that require external contractors, and collate tenders to centralise purchasing.  I also carry out fire, safety and first aid training, and liaise with the Housekeeping Manager on all aspects of the residents' accommodation and catering.

What three words would you use to describe Lynwood?
Tranquil, happy and caring.

What would you say to someone considering Lynwood for a relative or themselves?
Don't hesitate - this is definitely the best home in the area.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
I like walking, swimming and reading and have just taken up growing vegetables.

What is an average working day like for you?
I work in Treetops, the unit for the elderly mentally infirm.  I try to treat every resident as I would like my mum (up north) to be treated, and I know others are doing the same for her.

If I was choosing residential care my main priority, by far, would be the people who work there. I have never met a more caring and dedicated group than the one at Lynwood. It's a privilege to be part of it.

No day is the same on Treetops - every day is a new challenge.  I particularly enjoy caring for our residents with dementia.

What is an average working day like for you?
Busy giving medication and providing personal care, as well as writing reports and care plans. The best part of my day is being with the residents, talking to them and helping them.

When I'm not looking after my granddaughter, I enjoy playing Bridge, Line Dancing, gardening, cooking and walking the dog.

I'm happy to work in Lynwood.  My job involves assisting residents to bed and checking them regularly during the night.

I work a twelve-hour night, three times a week.  Starting with a report from the day staff, I give out medication and then supervise carers attending to patients' personal needs.

I like reading, walking and looking after my grandchildren.

What is an average working day like for you?
I work 12 hours night duty three nights a week. My job involves giving the residents privacy and dignity in all their care, as well as dispensing medication, updating care plans and writing daily reports. I enjoy my work.

I like playing with my children, cooking, listening to music and watching TV.

Being awake all night for three nights a week can be very tiring and stressful but I enjoy my work.
