Arthur Wilson House

Arthur Wilson House, named after BEN's founder, is under the direct care of BEN's welfare department and is the UK's first workplace day care centre. It provides a safe and comfortable environment where anyone with a connection to the automotive industries can leave an elderly relative to be cared for during the working day so they are free to go to work.

Facilities and activities are provided throughout the day, including bingo, card games and arts and crafts, which are all part of the diversional therapy programme. Visitors can also enjoy a game of pool on the centre's pool table.

Bathing facilities are available for visitors. There are showers and disabled WCs, designed to cater for all needs.

Arthur Wilson House provides its day residents with a hot meal for lunch. Menus can be tailored to suit individual requirements, and tea and coffee is always available - all served by our friendly staff.

There is also a hairdressing facility on site, which is popular with residents who enjoy a spot of pampering.

Arthur Wilson House has a room designed for day residents to relax in, gather their thoughts or just to get some peace and quiet. The room is equipped with special fibre-optic lights for stimulation.

It was purpose built and opened in 1997.
