Press Release - 11 April 2008

J & S Accessories Cycle for BEN

Two local Bristol men who took up cycling 2 years ago are now in training for a charity cycle ride from London to Paris in July. 53-year-old John Moir will be setting off with his colleague 22 year old Ben Armstrong in July to complete the 220-mile journey in three days. They expect to cycle between 60 to 75 miles per day and hope to raise as much money as possible for their industry charity, BEN.

John has supported BEN for many years having worked in the motorcycle industry since 1974. Over the past eight years he has worked as General Manager with J & S Accessories Ltd, which specialises in motorcycle clothing and accessories with more than 12 Yamaha franchises in the UK.

This will not be the first charity event for John as he completed the London to Brighton bike ride in 2005 commenting, “I was rather proud of what I achieved then and have since taken part in a 250 mile cycle ride from Crystal Palace to Notre Dame Cathedral in Reims over 4 days. I have now persuaded my colleague Ben Armstrong to sign up too as its great having a friendly face riding alongside you.”

In addition, to raising sponsorship money for their bike ride the duo are also raising funds through several other activities this year including a fifth anniversary bash at their Portsmouth shop, a charity auction and a golf day at Southwood golf course in Farnborough, Hants on June 14th.

Anyone interested in supporting John and BEN should make contact through the www.justgiving.com/johnmoir site.
