Arthur Wilson House Receives Funding
BEN’s Day Centre staff in Arthur Wilson House, Coventry, are delighted that they have been awarded a Grant for the installation of some special audio equipment which will enhance the sound of the television and radio transmission for their elderly visitors who come each day to the Centre. Mr John Bailey and Mr Bob Vincent from The Coventry and Warwickshire Hospital Saturday Fund Charitable and Welfare Trust, presented a cheque to Lynn Walker, Day Centre Manager, today 23 January, who thanked both gentlemen for visiting her Centre and for their generosity and said “My warmest thanks go to the Trust for helping make our members feel at home and enjoy more activities when they visit us. Without Grants like this we would not be able to provide the extra facilities and excellent level of care that we currently do.”
Charles Davis, Director of Fundraising and Communications at BEN, thanked the Trust for its generosity saying, “Our Day Centre visitors are becoming increasingly frail and we do our utmost to make their time spent at our Centre as enjoyable as possible. The provision of this audio loop system will make a great deal of difference to our visitors and I know how much this means to Lynn who is delighted that we have been successful with this application.”
The Day Centre is for automotive industry charity employees or former employees and their families, who need help caring for someone with a dementia or physical disability. They recently celebrated their 10th Anniversary although the Charity is 103 years old.
