Santa Visits Wyevale in Windlesham to Help Local Charity

With the festive season now very much in full swing Wyevale Garden Centre, in Windlesham, has opened its Santa’s Grotto every weekend I December and will be donating the proceeds to Lynwood a local residential and nursing home.

Santa and his elf helpers, all volunteers, have been enlisted to help raise money for Lynwood in Sunninghill which is part of BEN, the Automotive Industry Charity, who care for people in need of care and support connected to the industry.

“When we looked for a charity to run the grotto, we were always looking to support a local charity” said Mike, the manager of Wyevale.  “BEN’s Lynwood home fitted the bill perfectly and we’re glad to be able to support them on the run up to Christmas.”

Young visitors to the garden centre were delighted to see Santa and receive a present.   “It’s lovely to take the kids to see Santa, whether they’ve been naughty or nice,” said one mother, as her children went in to the Grotto “I’d say mine are nice a good 90% of the time!”   It costs just £5 to see Santa at Wyevale.

Individuals who are interested in volunteering for BEN should contact Adam Hanrahan on 01344 294719 or by email adam.hanrahan@ben.org.uk as  there are numerous opportunities in the local area.
