National BEN Week Celebrations
16 - 23 July, 2007
The Automotive Industry Charity, BEN, will be celebrating its birthday this year from 16 - 23 July with its annual 'National BEN Week' Campaign. During the week the charity is encouraging automotive and related industry employees from all over the country to join in the celebrations with their own fund raising activities. Among the many companies already signed up to take part in these celebrations are British Car Auctions, who are donating £1 for every car sold through their centres during the week and undertaking numerous fundraising initiatives, and Lifestyle Europe Limited, who are asking their staff to buy a £2 raffle ticket in return for an extra day's holiday.
Charles Davis, who recently joined BEN as Director of Fundraising and Communications, announced, "National BEN Week plays a vital role in raising our profile across the industry as well as generating much needed income for BEN. Every penny counts, for example by raising just £180, our supporters could enable our welfare team to purchase a wheelchair for a beneficiary with limited mobility. He went on to say, "Every day during National BEN Week individuals from companies, across the country, take part in all sorts of activities from sponsored walks - raffles - beauty evenings - fetes - 5-a-side football - cake sales to parachuting. However, we need to involve more and more people to participate in this important event as there are literally thousands of individuals who still do not know of BEN and the vital work we do."
The emphasis of National BEN Week is for everyone to have FUN whilst FUNdraising! For more information, to request a fundraising pack, or to register your interest, please contact Kelly Neal, BEN Events, on 01344 294720 or email Kelly.neal@ben.org.uk.
