day one

You'll get the opportunity to explore the Caribbean's largest city, Havana, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Much of the old parts of this city have remained largely untouched for centuries. During the course of the day you will get the chance to explore a wealth of historical buildings and monuments.

day two, three and four

The actual cycling begins on day two, from Playa Jibacoa. The days biking (approx 60 km) to Matanzas involves plenty of hills and is the only off-road section of the challenge. You will cycle past a few local farms and through several villages on the way. The next day will see you ride from the province of Matanzas, (which contains the infamous Playa Giron, the Bay of Pigs, on the south coast) to Cienfuegos. This part of the journey is 80km and will take you through villages with colonially designed houses steeped in character, allowing you to survey life in rural Cuba.

Cuba

day five, six and seven

After riding through the scenic roads and near the border area, you will arrive at the beautiful city of Cienfuegos, known as "The Pearl of the South" among Cubans. Day six will take you through the stunning rolling foothills of the Sierra del Escambray, through towns such as Barajagua and Hanabanilla. The final stage of the biking challenge takes place on day seven. This leg contains some steep curves and many challenging potholes, but don't worry, your hard work will be rewarded when you arrive at Trinidad and stay at the Hotel Ancon, an all-inclusive hotel on the Caribbean Sea!

final day

Choose to spend this day relaxing by the pool or on the beach, or exploring the UNESCO World Heritage City of Trinidad. That evening you will be treated to a celebratory dinner and party on the beach, taking you into the early hours of the morning! The next day you depart for Havana to begin your journey back home.
