Joe Greenwell has had an extensive career in the automotive industry since first joining Austin Morris as a graduate trainee back in 1973, after completing a BA (Hons) English and American Literature.
He is currently Chairman, Ford of Britain. Prior to this appointment in January 2009, Joe was Vice President of Government Affairs at Ford of Europe. Previous to this, he was Chairman and CEO of Jaguar Land Rover. Joe is also the 2009 president of the UK automotive industry's trade organisation, the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders
It was a visit to Town Thorns, one of BEN's four nursing and residential centres, back in the 1990s that first inspired Joe to get involved with BEN. His boss at the time, Nick Scheele, was elected President of BEN and, as his head of Public Affairs, Joe became personally involved.
Joe Greenwell has been BEN's president since July 2008.
