Denise Turnbull, Matron, Birch Hill

I enjoy every bit of my job and love coming into work. Each day varies from one to the next as I never know what will be thrown at me.

I work closely with my deputy and together we ensure the smooth running of Birch Hill. This involves ensuring our residents are well cared for, keeping their medications up to date, overseeing staffing matters and the day to day administration of our centre.

Every lunch time I visit the dining room and spend time with our residents. Hearing their laughter along with our staff's is very fulfilling. Knowing that we provide a happy and caring atmosphere is so rewarding and makes me feel like I'm giving something back to the community.

BEN is a very supportive organisation to work for. I always know that there is someone on the other end of the phone that I can turn to. This support network is so important to me and really does make a difference.
